Well Supported Family, formerly known as Nightingale Night Nurses

Kristin began her career as a professional nanny, working closely with more than a dozen young children. In 2008, her work was recognized when Family Helpers awarded her Nanny of the Year. The following year brought another milestone when ABC’s hit series America’s Supernanny selected Kristin as one of their final candidates out of thousands of nominees nationwide.

After the birth of her daughter, Juliana, Kristin experienced firsthand how raw and tender the postpartum period can be, and how essential it is for new parents to feel supported during that time. This personal experience deeply shaped her path and led her to blend her professional background with her lived experience as a new parent. Kristin felt called to support families during pregnancy, birth, and the vulnerable postpartum period in a more meaningful and hands-on way.

In order to support that journey, Kristin trained as a birth and Postpartum Doula through Warm Welcome Birth Services in 2009. Over the following years, she attended 112 births and supported more than 200 families [including 39 sets of twins] through postpartum and overnight newborn care. As her private practice grew, it became clear that the demand for thoughtful, reliable overnight support extended beyond what she could provide on her own.

This growth led Kristin to launch Nightingale Night Nurses, an overnight newborn care agency in Massachusetts, rooted in her values of trust, experience, and compassionate care. She thoughtfully built a team of experienced Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists, and RNs and LPNs to support families seeking dependable overnight care and continuity during the early weeks and months at home.

Driven by a desire to both support families and create sustainable, respectful opportunities for professionals, Kristin eventually expanded the agency nationally under the name Well Supported Family. While growth has been an important part of that journey, her focus has remained on quality care, ethical practices, and strengthening the newborn care industry as a whole.

In 2024, Kristin accepted the role of Executive Director of the Newborn Care Specialist Association, supporting the board’s work around education, certification, professional standards, and broader industry regulation.

Kristin lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband, Gerard, their dog, Bailee, and their two cats, Oliver and Lily. Her daughter, Juliana, lives in Boston and is graduating from Wentworth this year with a degree in Architecture, a milestone Kristin is incredibly proud of.

She enjoys her morning coffee, family hikes, movies, card games, crafting anything and everything, and long walks on the beach in Cape Cod. Much of her “spare” time is still spent thinking about new ways to support families and caregivers alike.
