Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists are both trained to support new parents throughout the newborn period.

A Postpartum Doula is trained to support new parents and has more training in breastfeeding, postpartum mood disorders, and helping the parents transition into parenthood.

A Postpartum Doula is more likely to provide day shifts. They help with baby care but also emotional support and feeding guidance.

A Newborn Care Specialist is trained to be more hands-on with the newborn themselves.

They have more training in the variety of different ways to feed a newborn, understanding their development [including premature babies], and how to get babies to sleep longer stretches. Their focus includes supporting you as new parents, and establishing routines for you as a new family. They are more likely to provide regular overnights or 24/7 live-in care.

Yes, many of our Certified Postpartum Doulas are CARROT-eligible. Our admin team can seamlessly support you through every step of the reimbursement process.

We recommend booking a Postpartum Doula or Newborn Care Specialist for overnight care support during your second trimester, but we would love to chat with you no matter when you are due.

While advance booking is ideal, we often have availability for last-minute placements. Contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Our expert newborn team is composed of experienced and qualified professionals specializing in newborn care. We have Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists, Sleep Consultants, and Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses (RNs and LPNs). Everyone on our team is highly trained in  newborn care, and has up to date CPR.

Absolutely. Families with in-home overnight newborn care often see better breastfeeding success and get more sleep. Our night-time specialists help your baby settle into a healthy feeding rhythm by breast or a bottle of pumped milk. Between feeds, you can relax and sleep while we handle diaper changes, soothing, and monitoring. The result is more rest on the nights we are there, and a baby who sleeps better even when we aren't there.

Yes, we support all feeding methods. We can assist with everything from establishing breastfeeding to paced bottle feeding, pumping schedules, and formula prep. We can help with NG-tube and G-tube feeds as well.
